Church at the Lake
If you’ve trusted Jesus as your Savior but have not been baptized, we invite you to take that exhilarating step of obedience this summer. And Darlington Lake will provide a glorious backdrop to declare your faith publicly during our all-church service at 10am on Sunday, July 20.
Why be baptized? — Christ modeled baptism for us in Matthew 3 by allowing John the Baptist to immerse Him in the waters of the Jordan River. At Pathway, we follow the example of Jesus with baptism by immersion. We believe immersion symbolizes a believer's faith in a crucified, buried, and risen Savior.
Is baptism necessary for salvation? — We do not believe baptism saves. Instead, it’s a wonderful opportunity for followers of Christ to share publicly that we have turned from sin, now identify with Jesus, and relay our powerful stories of redemption and new life.
If you are interested in being baptized at Darlington Lake, email Mattie Livada at mlivada@lifeatpathway.com, write “baptism” on your Connect Card, or call the church office at 724.843.6381.
(The lake service will be the only Pathway activity on Sunday, July 20. Our Chippewa and Moon campuses will be closed. In addition, there will not be a Thursday evening serving on July 17. )
