– SERVING OTHERS –
Dignity Ministry
Dignity robes meet on the first and third Wednesdays.
Dignity quilts meet on the second and fourth Tuesdays.
This ministry provides items of comfort for cancer and dialysis patients while undergoing treatments. Dignity robes provide modesty for women undergoing breast and lung cancer radiation treatments. Dignity quilts sews quilts for patients to use during treatments. We also provide baby quilts for local hospitals. We also make small pillows, seat belt port pads, and hats to ease with any discomfort patients may experience during treatments. All items benefit patients at Heritage Valley Beaver, AHN Beaver, AHN Wexford, West Penn, Dialysis Clinic Chippewa and DaVita Clinic in Moon. Lastly, we use all the scraps to make pet beds for a local shelter.
Take-home kits are available for those who prefer to sew at home. If you would like to serve in this ministry, contact Tamara Price or Sharon Welsh. We always have a need for gallon freezer Ziplock bags, white kitchen trash bags, and clear recycling trash bags.
