We want those two words to describe the posture of our hearts as we navigate this journey. We want to passionately invest our time, talents and treasure in our church, our community and around the globe. So with this project, we are asking our church family to join us in not only expanding our facility, but the reach of our ministry as we advance the gospel. And we know we can’t do that without surrendering our lives to Jesus on a moment-by-moment basis. That’s why we’re calling it All In.
Let’s start with the “why.” Quite simply, we are running out of space to carry out the ministry to which God has called us. As more young families are drawn to our congregation, we are seeing classrooms that are over capacity. While that’s “a good problem” to have, it’s still a problem. So to meet these pressing needs, the project will add facility space for our children’s and student ministries, an expanded café area for relational gathering, increased room for adult study and fellowship, and renovated office space for our church staff. We see this expansion project as a wonderful opportunity to make room for those God is calling to our church. It will provide much-needed space for years to come.
In addition to expanding the church building to better minister to the Pathway family and create a welcoming environment for our community, we also want to expand our reach around the globe. To that end, All In will supply $150,000 to Pathway’s Give Joy to the World fund, which shares the gift of clean water to needy regions in Africa and also the hope of salvation to the village of Orkarkar, a remote community in Kenya.
We anticipate construction will begin in the spring or early summer of 2016 and last approximately 12 to 18 months.
We expect minimal disruption to the children’s ministry schedule and only small inconveniences elsewhere. One exception will be the administration area where the offices will be displaced for several months during construction. We will do everything we can to minimize the impact in every area and be sure to communicate well when we need to alter our normal operating routine.
The forecast is $7.5 million. Our goal is to raise $2.9 million in approximately three years, beginning on November 15, 2015.
We are praying that as we impact lives through our project, the faith of our Pathway Church family would grow deeper and stronger. We are confident that will happen as we go All In to reach, to love and to serve.
